The Book Nook: The Lightkeeper's Daughters

Updated: May 19, 2020

After learning her brother has gone missing, all Elizabeth Livingston has left of her family are her father's journals. In there, she will discover secrets from her past that will affect her future. The Lightkeeper's Daughters explores death, loss, love, regret, family and the ties that bind them all together. This novel is historical fiction set on the shores of Lake Superior. The family lives in a lighthouse, and the diaries span from the 1920s to the 1940s, covering quite a bit of family history. The story goes back and forth in time. I thought it was beautifully written, and the author Jean E. Pendziwol wove an incredible tale of family and mystery. If you want to be kept on the edge of your seat, you should read this book. It's a real page-turner.
