It's not that kind of blog today, people. Get your minds out of the gutter! As most of you know, my mom has taken to making cedar angels. She makes them out of wood. Every piece is carefully cut out and measured to its exact specifications.
I was the lucky recipient of one this past weekend. It hangs on the door of my room for all to admire. These angels are yet another outlet for my mother to create beauty. They are not perfect, however. They have knots in them and different variations of wood. As in life, people are not perfect but we love them because of their flaws.
I tend to agree with my mom's perception of angels because they're knotty and imperfect. When you run your hand over them they are imperfect just like people are. I believe that angels are all around us. They come in all shapes and sizes. They are human and imperfect, and I believe they help us on our journey through life. That's my idea of an angel.
